why should you and i wait?
flowers, chocolates, adventurous nights out shouldn’t be shortened to one day
not when my affection is everyday preceding and following of February 14th.
cannot comprehend why we must subdue our passions then raise them for commercial and
romantic materialism sake
not when just a moment alone with each other is all it takes
takes to ignite flame burning but waiting
so without further rhetoric, for only cowardice comes from hesitating
so months before winter even arrives, i have prepared a meal, baked dessert, and pour your favorite wine
so before Valentine’s Day, love, would you be my valentine...
