Too often we relegate faith to religion
trusting most other practices
are based on dispassionate logic and fact,
forgetting that use
of federally issued currency,
investing in stocks,
or stashing it in a bank,
let alone using a credit card,
are faith based transactions;
that the bottom line is
for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health
we’re all wedded to the gospel
of humanity’s sole universal theology,
the only denomination
preaching the God
of the “invisible hand”
and “free markets,”
Capitalism!
