If I were to see the sun and the stars today
I would say they were wars.
If I were to meet the sky today
I would ask why.
If I were to go to paradise
I would say it was a throw of the dice
Which fell right
As it sometimes does.
And if this were not enough
To hold my sarcasm,
I would say let’s play “catch”-
You catch my life
And I catch yours
On Sunset Beach.
And then we shall eat fish
At the Fisherman’s Wharf,
Caught fresh from the South China Sea
And imported in refrigerated containers.
When will we be what we are?
When will we see the morning star?
