O Mind, worship the lotus feet
that cannot be destroyed.
Between heaven and earth everything passes away.
Why fast or make pilgrimages?
Why bother with abstract talk?
Why attempt suicide under the blades of Benares?
Life is but the play of sparrows --
it ends with the onset of night.
Why don an ochre robe, and go wandering?
Whatever you wear, if you do not enter the Source,
you will be caught in the net of return.
Mira loves Krishna.
She cries, Sever every knot in my heart!
