there is beauty in the girl, her
wild horse vision
vistas of horizon bolted for, so to catch
there is beauty too in the young woman,
too
her own vision
duty and care of a life sought, so to live
and
yes
there is probably beauty in the old woman
call it “wisdom” “spiritual insight”
“fullness of soul” said life, well lived
but she is still an old woman
and despite the cries
of all who smile
for some semblance of justice in this world,
for her
I can only be sad
