I recall, one night in 2000,
I regaled a friend with talk
Of flame wars between me and Others
Shaking head at how they got out of hand,
I told him what I had told Them
I justified my position
I understood him to be a damned Friend
Which to me, ended any debate
I told him how satisfying, this thing called
“e-mail”
Was,
“I write out how I feel, what I think,”
I said,
“I hit ‘SEND’, man!
It’s just like flushing the toilet!”
“Ah, But...BUT!”, he countered, and I
Stared at him
I had no idea what he meant
I mean, I Did,
But, it didn’t make much sense
