That naval operations
In support of land forces (so cool!)
Can be of decisive importance, that
Naval supremacy can be exercised by
A transnational consortium acting in defense of a
Multinational system of free trade!! (#Ecstasy#);
That’s sly stuff, so
An unknown was needed for such a creed, so
“Thayer,” said Thayer, in the poem by Thayer
“You are that unknohhhhhn!”
And he was, too
Too unknown, in fact
So, Thayer took what he’d given Thayer
And gave unknown honors instead, to
