There was a time I was not who I am
In The Beginning
When everyone had a chance
When I vaguely passed for normal
Readied, in the building blocks
To learn from Zero
Scent, silk, embrace, hammer and tong
The world was wide
The sky, so high
Not a hot nor a cold imperfect
Around us, all edifice, all stadia
“auf die Pl'tze!”
“fertig!”
(Starting gun’s sharp crack) —        —        —
The ATARI 2600, had a “Drag Racing” game
Without a booklet, it was unplayable
And, if you pressed the button and held it
Right from the “GO” Light
All you did was blow your tires out
And sit there
And default
And the game hues changed
To show it was over

It was rather like that
