I admit,
I’ve done it all before.

said I love you.
kissed the back of a neck.
chased after love.
spooned.

but they were all na•ve
motions from a man chasing a
T.V. dream.

with you it isn’t forced,
in fact
I fight against the grain.

I tell myself,
it is just another piece of pussy,
but it is all a lie.

you make the day warmer,
shorter,
blend together like a well made
Mexican martini.

life will go on,
but I’ll never
be
the
same.
