THE INEFFABLE

Duane Locke

The pale chill of the crossed sand insinuates
A demarcation, but it is only where
The rock-segmented sea comes in drops with wind,
Not a border, but it as if a boundary
Were overcome , world’s chicanery comprehended,
Thus, there never will be a street or sign to deceive,
But only solitude’s loneness to loosen verbal abusive chains.
Destinations that disappear upon arrival
Remained unsought or born, thus possible love. Moisture,
Unseen, leaves wind’s unringed fingerprint on lips.
