Damn that $3 clock.
So loud and so constant,
a reminder of where I am,
What I have to do.
What I need to do.
Tick, tick, tick.
Time is slipping by
and I have wasted too much.
People say I’m young,
nothing to worry about,
but they don’t know what I know.
Tick, tick, tick.
Youth is no safety net
when met with Fate.
The world is young yet
it will perish that way.
Tick, tick, tick.
I will not. Not here
listening to the incessant
heartbeat of life
as it makes love to my despair.
Tick, tick, tick.
Is it getting hard to breathe in here?
Stale and thick,
like Death, like Death.
