Alexa Renner

I wait for her to get out into
The light and away
From the darkness
She walks up
Her ghostly black hair swirling
Around her neck
We walk, chat
And then she fades
Into the darkness
Of her world
The world
That is not seen
Something once bright
When light went out
And the creature that lives
In the darkness
Will never be the same

The nurse says
“Do you want a drink?”
I’m holding my friend’s hand
As she drifts to another world
I hope she finds happiness there
It wasn’t her choice
To leave us

For the world of

Anxiety

She is the angel
Of things not seen
The ruler of the mold
Behind the wallpaper
And she trades
The kingdom of the lost
For citizenship
Of the world of the
Good feelings
I lie down
And wait to die
With a once deep friend
