Good Guy Gone

He was just a different guy,
is what they would say.
Different in what way?
I wanted to know.
Well for one thing he didn’t care about money.
He’d give you the shirt off his back.
And for another,
he didn’t like to compete.
Maybe that’s why he never played sports or became a salesman.
But he fit in just fine.
The ladies loved him,
because he could keep a secret.
And was the best listener.
So it shocked us all when we heard the news.
Would have never guessed he’d go out that way.
He always seemed so happy.
I guess one can never really tell,
can they.
It’s so tragic.
He will be missed.
Are you going to the funeral?
