It is the last time to tell the story.
and we ought to make it a good one.
I intend to post the WWII pin up
photo, lots better than the one at 91,
talk about listening in on the Roosevelts
when they were at home in Hyde
Park back when you were a telephone
operator in 1944, and the family
reunions with the Human Cannonballs
and the side show people from
the family carnival. And this time I’ll
remember to mention that you married
an eagle scout. We forgot to mention
that when my father died. Let it be like
the real obituary that ran in The Sun
this week: Granny loved the Lord Jesus,
fast cars, sled dogs, dark chocolate, and
fresh flowers. She spent her winters gambling
in Vegas and fishing off Baja, and summers
flipping hamburgers at the track. I hope
I still have time to make a good story
out of my one life. Thanks.
