I never misuse the word.
It took a long time to get here
and the thought of going back repulses me

My heart strings become knots when I force myself back into your world
It’s a toxic place where rivers of poison run under deconstructed bridges
Moss covers the dull flat rocks that pollute the path of desolation

This world will evade you of compassion and sanity
Here, light is rare and mirages of tranquility are just that - mirages.

I went numb the day I escaped this land of agony.
And for that, I adore the word.
