League Nights

I spend my Saturday nights dancing
for nickels, shall we say, in the men’s room
at a local bowling alley. When I’m finished,
if I’ve made enough money and my knees don’t ache,
I’ll get a cheeseburger basket with a pitcher of beer,
and roll a few games by myself just to unwind.

I’m thinking about going back for league nights
during the week when all the lanes are full, maybe
try to save up for shoes and a ball all my own.
