you wanted a girl
who would remain
silent and strong
at your
side

not someone who’d call you out
when you were wrong,
or put you in your place;

you couldn’t appreciate my wilds—

thought i was only the beauty
and fragrance of my flowers

until my thorns cut you,
and you cried out because
you had to face the fact that you
bled like any mortal;

i know you think you are immortal
but i will cut you down like a tree—

no longer shall your nightmares
torment me or any of the others that
suffered in the torment of a lust
you mistakenly dubbed as
love.
