you want a girl
seen but never heard,
a woman that is still a child;

no hair in any of the places
that it shouldn’t be

nerdy enough to have knowledge
of your favorite things but you know
more than she does even when
she’s more well versed—

you want someone soft enough
to wrap her in the balm of her petals,

but never sharp enough
to cut you
with words, deed, or thought;

you picked a rose
not realizing i could make you bleed—

you didn’t appreciate my
wilds or my thorns
only my beauty.
