Word Salad

Daniel S. Weinberg

No more writing about the ants taking over the world or
The revolution by the Middle Class.
Senate and House of Representatives will be burning in DC just like Rome.

Nero will be taken by limo to the local bowling alley and have a good time
A good ice cream cone and a good iTunes choice at least by human standards.

Word salads-term invented by psychiatrists to describe a poem or story that makes no sense.

By definition a word salad can be nothing at all or at least less than something or maybe a speck of dust on the nose of a heffalump.

Or a word salad can be a collection of words out for a walk that got a little lost.

Or a word salad can be a little depressed child who dreams while awake or sings in his sleep.

The previous statement can be thought of as a word salad because none of it is true but then again in a different dimension this could be considered like a true statement or wishful thinking or poetic license.

Weak-kneed athletes drop out fast and never volunteer for the Mt. Everest trips.

More word salad-like mixing metaphors and allusions-this is a near example of a word saladism.

Is there such a place as nirvana or Paradise or is it only a place in our minds? Hey, where’d the word salad go?

Squinting eyes at the setting sun, straightened backs, good posture, wish fulfillment and so on all lead to word salads.

Is happiness a real place? Or is it an example of a word salad.

California freeways are a team sport; pass the slow guy...let’s go fast and get to where we’re goin’...
