i haven’t felt that lately

everyone will be there for you
until they aren’t

when you’re the strong one
everyone knows you’ll drag yourself
bag from the ashes of chaos again on new wings,

why is it always my individual effort, though?

always try to encourage and help others,
it would be nice to feel some of that love in return;

people say they love me
i want someone
to show me that they do
because sometimes i wonder if i don’t annoy
my friends for all their
absence—

even lone wolves like the company
of other wolves, sometimes;

is my heart really
a language no one understands?
the mythology of my bones,
are they too many and deep and layered
within the galaxy of me that no one wants to bother with
every tome of stars?

they always say when you are
saddest that things will get better,
i knew that was true once;

but i haven’t felt that lately.
