just don’t want to hurt,
want to feel happy and i
am braving each day as
it comes;

but i crave and desire
the enveloping warmth of
better days to come—

the skies are blue,
most things in my life are
going well;
i shouldn’t be this sad

yet i cannot shake it off—

i just want to know
that in this vast universe
i matter to someone.
