Monkey menace

In my childhood
I remember vividly
our village was
full of monkeys.
One day I was going
to my friend’s house alone
lonely path full of bushes
suddenly a gang of monkeys
came on my way, attacked me
showing their fangs
I ran for my life
monkeys pulled my legs
I fell down on the ground
crying loudly helplessly.
My father heard me
came running and rescued
by then so many scratches
made my legs bleeding.

We went to Vrindavan
a famous old city in India
my son was driving the car
keeping his side window open
the car was moving slowly
appalling us a monkey came
and snatched his spectacles
he went after the monkey
but by then it climbed a rooftop
my son threw a fruit juice bottle
the monkey caught it parting
the spectacles down on the ground.

In one village of India
menace of monkey is so severe
that if a bridegroom comes to wed
in a procession
a huge number of monkeys attack
severely injuring the people.
Thus the girls in this village
are all virgin without getting married.
