you wanted me to break
myself in two
to meet your needs,
and when i walked away
put up boundaries and refused
i was made into the bad guy;

that’s okay
everyone has always tried to
make me the villain—

i have always been a strong willed woman
even as a child,

and saying no to narcissists is my favorite
thing to do because i like the look of
fury in their eyes when they realize that my
world has and never will revolve
around them;

i’ve always been more than a pretty face
& if you could not see that then you weren’t
paying attention to the person i am, have been,
and will become.
