you thought you could
whisper darkness
into my nights and i wouldn’t
notice

thought you could tear down
my heaven and replace it
with your hell,

and you thought you were so
entitled to my body and i would just
forgive you for all the silence
you drove into my bones with the
haunting of your winter heart;

but i woke up with all the wrath and rage
of apollo and artemis on my side

the sun and the moon let me wake
from the torment of your lust
you mistakenly called
love—

i hope hera reminds you of all
the wrong you’ve done,
and hecate helps her avenge me
for all the wickedness you’ve bestowed
into this world and all the hearts
you’ve broken because of your selfish
ever hungry tongue.
