Just One of the Girls

Fabrice Poussin

I woke up this morning shattered by northern rains
my home gone as I lay in a deep vale
luscious were the grasses filled with glorious songs.

Enshrouded in sweet dew I turned to the right
stretching the unfamiliar body to the dawn
something new ran through foreign rivers.

Perhaps the dream had come to fruition at last
born again into a long-sought life
I touched the edge of my own mysteries.

Turning to the left blinded by the star I felt
an uncommon ecstasy as I inhaled
the breath of another, yet I was alone.

There I might remain, my destiny sealed
imagining delights with the antique poetess
an eternal dialogue of sister souls.

Facing the infinite blues above
I exhaled into a gentle mist to find
my image wrapped in a light summer dress.
