Window Washer
Stephen Jordan I am twenty-three stories high. I am smooth across the exoskeletons of the city. Tonnages press hard on the earth, buildings puncture the sky. The dripping, sticky sap inside of me. The squeak of clean on the window. I watch their mouths move. Beehive cells lined with carpets. A slurry of words and protocols seal up the cracks. I was uprooted long ago, nothing to feed the frayed fibers left. My scaffolding sways and knocks against the window. |
