comes from
laws that wound others

you do not respect
the magic or voice of women,

but you forget wisdom
in your book is personified
as a woman;

the person who gave birth to
your Christ is a woman—

Lilith was a woman, too,
and i rather be wild and fierce as
she

than subservient as Eve;

my will is fierce and i will not
bend my knees to the aims of men—

women are not your property
or your broodmares,
and if you do not respect us
then you don’t deserve to be
near us;

you want to plant your seeds?
rake up your own garden
because we are tired of being
considered less than,

we are women and we are strong.
