why is the onus on women
to defend and protect themselves?
why are they blamed when
they are attacked?
hold men accountable for their
own decisions,
stop coddling them;
if they’re going to be wild animals
then put them down like the ones that
attack humans—
i’ve seen dogs do less than
some of these men,
and pay with their lives
just for defending themselves
or the people they love;
i wish we lived in a society that
loved women, protected women,
honored women,
a world where women were safe and valued
instead of seen as mere property
or sex objects;
i am exhausted of playing nice and being polite
when i would much rather claw the eyes out of
men that make me and my friends uncomfortable.
