I’ve made a collection
of words: the ones that
failed me; the ones that
let themselves be ignored,
forgotten, misunderstood
or twisted into caricatures
and opposites; the ones
that stabbed me in the
heart; the ones that stabbed
me in the back; the ones that
returned to haunt me; the
ones that promised to build
bridges and lay foundations
and lift me to the heavens
but then just lay on the
floor and flopped and
fizzled. So many words.
They should make a
jolly good bonfire.
