“look, you’ve finally become a woman!”
my mother enthused, beaming
as she watched blood streaming down my legs.
the red dripped to the tiles
her skirt babbled in the breeze.
“meredith?” my father asked of her,
pushing open the kitchen door.
pain laced at my back
my knees wobbled in agony.
“meredith, what have you done to him?”
