Queen of the Castle

A new neighbour moved in the other night, I saw
Them coming, as they made their space feel just
Like their home and I knew it best just to let them
Settle as it seemed an unwinable battle; the new
Tenant comes with wings and twigs which they’ve
Built into a nest in our upstairs sink and that can
Only mean one thing, another must be on the way
And yet I daren’t go up for fear of being shit all
Over by the pigeon whose taken up residence
Knowing she’s already the queen of this castle.
