Cobwebs

They little know how my eyes can perceive
the invisible cobwebs that have congealed
within their eyes, across their hearts, and along their speech.

Their vision has been blurred over the years
by threads of prejudice that ill-judgment breeds,
glazing their pupils with impervious sheets,
spun by the most venomous type of censorious zeal.

Their hearts are blinded by the contagious disease
of selfishness that weaves a web of greed,
nurturing malevolence, callousness, and self-conceit.

As for their adulterated speech,
their tongues are matted with a labyrinth of deceit,
entrapping every word within a silken sheen.
