What’s grievous than death?

I was surprised when my father told
me five things will be more saddening than his death.
The flowers he planted, watered & withered
after his death, the aimless wandering
of sheep while the Shepherd isn’t amidst.
The christening/ wife titled widow, child named orphan
& parents labelled barren/
The sight of his grave when it rains &
when sun scorches violently.
The morning that interrupted our dreams/
drifted us apart / & divorced our souls.
