Nice Skin

    “The lady had nice skin.” This was my son’s morning greeting to me. I wondered how he knew. The nice skinned lady appeared in my dreams. At one time my son too appeared in my dreams, years before I had him. First he was a thought. Then he was an image. Next he was a person. I asked my son about the nice skinned lady, how he thought she came to be. “She’s not here yet,” he said. “She’s like a movie only I can see.” I wonder if the boy could be seeing his mother. This thought may be true. Tonight I hope to dream of her, so I can ask many questions. My son and I share this dream skinned woman, and she shares us too. These thoughts are not mistaken. We believe them to be true. At night the mind is hazy. Often, she is blue.
