Volcano

Suveeksha Viswanathan

Dislocated resilience,
a black swallower fish floating.
From the fetters bursting out
disastrous emotions.
Houses, lives swept away,
Sobs and anguish heard to deaf ears,
Her silence to be feared.
For unexpected
A barging intruder- her retaliation.
All started when,
reverberations of inscrutable pain,
a hopeless whelp tied to a tree.
As a vehicle nears by,
A credulous calf oblivious of her nearing end
she becomes.
A world different from our own,
Years of neglection and derogatory actions reside,
Adhered to shiny cobwebs.
Never in her right mind would she,
Tear her limbs.
For we her limbs, we her eyes,
we a part of life.
She – ubiquitous,
she in our single breath.
