from me screaming about
the pieces of himself he
left in Iraq

What does a road not
taken have to do with
the road that blew up
on you and several
other soldiers in a
Humvee?

Is the next stop the
Veterans Administration
Hospital so that I can
return to writing
the poem inside of
my head?

What separates me
and the other riders
doing a better job of
ignoring your madness

is our subliminal
language
