Middle

Appadoo Leyanah

Twinkling perfection above her head,
Unscrupulous stiffness under her feet
As always, she’s gut-wrenchingly in the middle
Middle,
The unforbidden graveyard where dilemma reigns

She watches the tiniest of birds flying away from her soul,
And titanics sinking even further behind
She’s rooted despite all efforts
In the middle of it all,
Yet, not the centre of anything

She’s in that very place where once you enter, it takes eternity to leave
Condemned,
She’s so scared of herself that she chose silence
God knows how many more hearts she’ll tear
Because of her very own

The middle, that graveyard
She stares
While change is constantly changing
A wave of ambiguity sways her hair like a father caressing his child
She’s in the infinite lap of something, somewhere

Smothered in her mind,
Left to die,
She’s rooted to the ground,
Yet, no branches to reach the sky
She’ll always remain in this accursed place,
Murdered by her invisibility.
Light reflects on the diamonds and the shattered glass,
Never on blackbodies

Twinkling perfection above her head,
Unscrupulous stiffness under her feet
As always, she’s gut-wrenchingly in the middle
The middle of it all.
