it’s okay, underestimate me

you may be okay
with the world the way
it is,
but i’m not;

i will push back and i will
lose my temper—

anger isn’t dangerous unless
you’re the one that it burns,
and anger is a good indication
that you’ve accepted too long
conditions that you didn’t deserve;

if you treated me right then there’s
nothing to fear—

if you didn’t respect me then i wouldn’t
get in my way because i am a daughter
of chaos, i will return it to sender with
interest;

don’t know why you think femininity equates
with fragility, but it doesn’t—

it’s okay, underestimate me; i will make
sure you don’t get a second chance
to disrespect me because i don’t play
with those who don’t know enough to
come to my table you have to treat me right.
