from denmark to france you
pillage and plundered

king charlemange called you
“The scourge of the north”

you colonized england
led raids in paris
and appeared in america
5 centuries before columbus

an archaeologist holds a wide
pelvis, could you have carried
a baby ?
could you have been a mother ?

a woman warrior
who fought as hard as a man
was feared and respected

bones are missing
but your skeleton tells a story
like zena and daenerys
you heard the warriors battle cry

hell hath no fury like a redhead scorned !

only when you heard the bells
you stopped

and they keep digging
finding artifacts, finding bones
filling in the blanks of your
story

a legacy you left in a trail
of blood
