Greyhound bus to nowhere

Erren Kelly

She’s on a greyhound bus to nowhere
A blue jean angel, carrying poetry in a bottle of whiskey
she’s a girl made of bullets and kerosene

she sees her childhood from a swing in the front yard
and got tired of being famous in a small town
so, she went on greyhound bus to nowhere

she didn’t want to be someone’s crazy ex-girfriend
she was the girl next door, only prettier
she’s a diva, made of bullets and kerosene

be careful with her, or she’ll bring you down
she’s a tony lama woman, living on tulsa time
riding on a greyhound bus to nowhere

she’s the reason god made oklahoma
no matter the battle you’re facing, with her, this too will pass
she’s a rock made of bullets and gasoline

she sits alone with her guitar and she sings
and you want to thank god, for southern angels
this girl, riding on a greyhound bus to nowhere
a hellcat in heels, made of bullets and kerosene
