Someday I’ll come to my Great Reward is

a fancy way of saying that sooner
or later I’ll croak—but wait, there’s more: I’ll
die and my body rot and my soul (if
I have one) soar up, up, up, and away
to Heaven to be judged so at least some
part of me will catch a break and even
live eternally in Heaven or Hell
though my Sunday School teacher says that life
in Hell is no kind of life at all but
I just tell her Well, ma’am, I’ll find out for
myself someday and so will you, ha ha
and that comment made her angry but I
didn’t mean it that way so I said I’m
sorry. Then she smiled and she’s got good teeth.
