Don’t Touch

Richard K. Williams

During this ongoing pandemic we were
continuously told to social distance.
Don’t hug, don’t shake hands, don’t touch.
Devices were installed and sold so
we wouldn’t have to touch, door handles,
elevator buttons, or each other.

We were assured through signage that
things of necessity were sanitized regularly.
I never did notice anyone saying
don’t touch money or, credit cards.
Just buy on-line. Keep spending America!
Multi-national corporations and billionaires
Gotta get theirs, and yours too.

Now that the pandemic may be
winding down, the government
and big business, will still need to
keep Americans afraid, suspicious,
and apart from one another.
I’m guessing they will have to
get into a war, like with Russia.

Then we will send aid
To the country being oppressed
In the form of arms and
promises we won’t keep
like build schools and
get caught in the lies again.
Giving just cause for other
countries populations to
despise America.
