I annually roam with leaves that fall,
drifting in streams of emerald gold,
matting the streets
with a crinkled robe
that winds will tear
with a single blow.

I swirl with every feathered flake,
all constantly travelling
without a reprieve,
dissolving wherever we happen to land,
like foam embracing its inevitable end.

I whirl with every grain of sand,
the confetti of deserts
that have gone mad;
one moment touching the tip of a dune,
next buried deep beyond your world.
