t-shirt fabric.

ate swanfeathers, pulled
from the liffey like flowers
and tasting
strangely of grass.

striking camp,
we quenched fires
and began to walk
westward. under mountains
the city sat
like a bowl behind us,
full of porridge,
sourness
and bad air.
