To See it All Again

Saturn Guo

I. Dusk / Exoneration
Is dusk too late for an epiphany? Tell me,
what good is a phoenix that never rises at

dawn? I want to see the night’s divinity,
feel Her velvet touch, hear Her dulcet tones.

Exonerate me, then, from such cycles
of futility. I have no place here: dusk

evermore, gentle and soft but only such.
The siren song of the unknown calls me.

II. Night / Ataraxia
I will never understand your raison d’être,
o’ starry midnight sky: for what do you persist,

chasing the sun across the night? Perhaps
you too wish to live as light, scourge of

shadows. You have taught me ataraxia. If
even you can split your soul in search for

the push and pull of another like you, I, too,
can continue to search for repose. I, too,

will chase the distant promise of an irradiated
future. So, you and I are alike, then: same snake,

different skin, searching for eternity through
infinite evanescence, praying for serendipity.

III. Dawn / Serendipity
Dawn’s ephemerality, the eternity found in
the points where we connect, the infinity

between one and two, I want to string
these moments of euphoria together into

shining constellations. This is my serendipity.
What I would give to see it all again.
