To examine Lazarus

A pious man
A friend of Jesus
Who died
While Jesus tarried
In another city
Four days later
Jesus arrived

Setting aside any personal convictions
Let’s assume, and take the story at
Face value
According to popular belief
After death good people ascend to their reward in heaven
Assume Lazarus there
Assume paradise
Assume no more earthly strife
Assume Lazarus enjoying complete peace and joy unequaled in life

Then Jesus
His friend
Brings him back to life
Assume Lazarus’s first words being
JESUS CHRIST! What the hell did you do that for?
