i am not your
womb for hire
or your broodmare,

will fight tooth and nail
for my right to choose;

and for the rights of any other
in this country to make
decisions for themselves because
it is no one’s business what someone
does in their own life—

if you actually cared about what
your precious book had to say then you’d
know that life doesn’t begin until the first breath;

you like to throw the bible around a lot
for people who haven’t read it—

if you actually cared about what your deity
had to say then you’d be helping the poor,
you’d house the homeless and you’d feed the hungry,
and you’d help the downtrodden and the widows;

instead you advocate for the unborn because
they cannot complain about the contempt and rage
you have for humans and human life that doesn’t
align to the image of what you believe humanity should be—

so shut up! you have nothing worth saying,
and i refuse to listen to your lying lips.
