I’m scared,
not sure what to expect
when I walk into the room.
I slowly glance around,
paranoid, as a sea of eyes
stare back at me.

Never thought
I would need therapy,
hoping the pain would go away.

Feeling vulnerable
like a damsel in distress,
I sit alone on the
soft bench with my tears
at a loss for words.

Mike approaches
with a dixie cup of water
and a calm voice.
Assured me.
I will be fine.
