They say a certain amount of pain releases the same neurotransmitters as morphine
When I was a kid, we just used regular drugs
doing a line is like playing Russian roulette and all the coke is laced with fentanyl and
the Party Monster is dead and
If something has to go up my nose and past my tonsils and down my throat
I’d rather it numbs me on the way down and
Who will save us?
We already couldn’t do anything
Stuck inside for months and wondering if death could be worse than this and meeting new babies on zoom
and doing pretty puzzles and baking crusty bread and drinking dry wine
and crying and moaning and coughing
Who will save us?
The Tiger King will save us, chest bared; gun in hand, The King will save us
His music will save us
Seong Gi-hun will save us, learn his lesson; end this game, Seong will save us
His strength will save us
Who will save us?
Anti-vax politicians choke on their words while they choke on the fluid building up in their lungs while the men on the TV argue
The president is the devil
Its fake news
Its real facts
Masks are pointless
Masks will save us
Vaccines will kill us
Vaccines will save us
Fauci is a liar
Fauci will save us
The president will save us
Avoid the sickness
The sickness will save us
Watching the national guard in American cities and children crying and dying in camps and dissenters disappearing into vans
and friends dying and family dying and strangers dying
and chanting and protests and burning and
Who will save us?
Who will cut our hair and clean our houses and cook us food and care for the sick
and help us and keep us and want us and love us
and fuck and bleed and pay and work and
Why save us?
