cops or joined the special forces

Still I secretly prayed every night
for the apocalypse so that my family
and I could live in pre-historic times
like in The Flintstones and I could
have a pet dinosaur

Yabba dabba do!
how innocent were those days
when we had to crawl under
our desks for duck & cover

Now everything is just Run Hide
Fight

And everyone
a potential intruder
